Has your desire to sew slowed during the winter season? Have you lost your sewing mojo? Looking for a quick fun project? Have you ever wondered what you could make with a Jelly Roll* precut? This pattern uses one these rolls along with about a yard of contrast fabric to create a fun, creative, easy, and different quilt. Come join us and give your “sewjo” a boost!

Level: Any
Size: approximately 58” square finished
Time: Approximately 3-6 hours for quilt top construction

Assumptions:

• Must have basic machine sewing knowledge
• Know how to prep, cut, and sub-cut fabric
• Know how to sew a ¼” seam
• At least 40″ of useable fabric
• WOF = width of fabric, usually 42″
• Use ¼” seams throughout
• Press according to arrows

Fabric Requirements Needed for class:

• One Jelly Roll* (or 40-42 WOF 2½” strips)
• 1 yard Contrast Fabric

Needed for finishing:

• ½ yard Binding
• 4 yards Backing
• 60” x 60” Batting

Tool Requirements:

Originally coined by Moda Fabrics, a Jelly Roll is a precut bundle of 40-42 WOF 2½” strips from one fabric designer collection.

Sewing machine in good working order, with a new needle (extra needles, if needed). Please remember the foot pedal and power cord!

¼” foot or tape to mark a ¼” guide line on the machine

Rotary cutter, with a new blade (extra blades, if needed)

Pins and needles, pin cushion

Thread (coordinate with fabric)

Scissors and/or snips

Cutting ruler

Seam ripper

Note taking materials (eg., notebook, paper, pen/pencil)
