What is Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP)? Have you ever wondered what you could make with FPP? This pattern uses scraps, precuts, and/or fat quarters (FQ) along with a little background fabric to create a wall hanging or table centerpiece.
Assumptions
- Must have basic machine sewing knowledge
- Know how to prep, cut, and sub-cut fabric
- Know how to sew a ¼” seam
- Use ¼” seams throughout
Fabric Requirements
Needed for class: - Various coloured/patterned leftover scrap
fabric, fat quarters (FQ), or any precut
(Layer Cake, Charm Pack, Mini Charm
Pack, Jelly Roll) - Various neutral leftover scrap fabric, fat
quarters (FQ), or any precut (Layer Cake,
Charm Pack, Mini Charm Pack, Jelly Roll)
Tool Requirements
Note taking materials (eg., notebook, paper, pen/pencil)
Sewing machine in good working order, with a new
needle (extra needles, if needed). Please remember the foot pedal
and power cord!
¼” foot or tape to mark a ¼” guide line on the machine
Rotary cutter, with a new blade (extra blades, if needed)
Pins and needles, pin cushion
Thread (coordinate with background fabric)
Scissors and/or snips
Cutting ruler (6” x 24”)
Add a Quarter ruler (6” or 12”)
Seam ripper
