Come see this beautiful modern quilt hanging in our classroom. Level: beginners and up.
Whether you live in an apartment in the city or a house in the woods, this modern log cabin variation will add a dash of color to your home. Make the basic version using your favorite large prints, or choose the strippy version for smaller prints. This is the perfect beginner level quilt and it is suited for many different prints and solids. You will learn rotary cutting techniques and Maggie will show you how to find the perfect 1/4 inch seam on your machine.

We have scheduled our ever popular embroidery retreat to give you more time and education at a great value! We hope you like our this format for our embroidery retreat – a whole 2 days away from reality, where you can create and complete projects, learn new techniques and become inspired and motivated in all of your embroidery creations. Do you have design sets that you purchased and never got to stitch? Bring your embroidery UFO’s and get them finished (I have dog and cat blocks…smile, grimace)! This is the perfect time and place to to do them! Or maybe you got “stuck” in the middle of an embroidery project and didn’t know exactly how to move forward? Bring it in and we can discuss options! I promise you will leave with new knowledge, inspiration and a sense of accomplishment.

Would you like to learn basic quilting techniques including precision piecing? Have you ever wondered what you could make with a simple Charm Pack (5″ squares)? This pattern uses one Charm Pack along with a little background fabric to create a 32×32″ wall hanging, table center, wheelchair quilt, or baby quilt. This class will help you understand quilting basics, as well as tips for precision, and you should be able to finish the quilt top in the time allotted. If you would like to complete the quilt with batting, binding, and backing, the material amounts will be included during class.
Assumptions:
Must have basic sewing machine knowledge.
What to bring:
Note taking materials (eg., notebook, paper, pen/pencil) up. Class fee will be refunded in full if we cancel or if student cancels at the latest one week before class begins.
Sewing machine in good working order, with a new needle (extra needles, if needed). Please remember the foot pedal and power cord!
¼” foot or tape to mark a ¼” guide line on the machine, along with a regular all-purpose foot
Rotary cutter, with a new blade (extra blades, if needed)
Pins and needles, pin cushion
Thread (coordinate with background fabric)
Scissors and/or snips
Cutting ruler (6” x 24”)
Seam ripper
Would you like to learn basic quilting techniques? Have you ever wondered what are fat quarters and what can be made with them? This pattern uses two fat quarters along with a little accent fabric to create the quilt top. Come in before the class and we will help you select your fabric and thread. Payment in advance required.
