Join Bits N Pieces Quilt Shop and Seacoast Sewing & Quilting, Debby Brown, Diane Henry, Linda Gosselin and Ramona Bateman for our first ever quilting and embroidery retreat! Join us for 3 fun-filled days at The Holiday Inn, 300 Woodbury Ave., Portsmouth NH. Pick from over 18 different machine quilting classes, 3 embroidery classes, 1 scanning/cutting machine class and/or 3 all-day open sewing in a dedicated retreat room which will be available until 11pm.

Your registration includes: choice of 6 classes, a Wednesday evening educator trunk show, breakfast and lunch on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and coffee and snack stations each day.

Registration Process: add registration to your cart; choose your daily classes; sign up for open sewing in retreat room if you wish; and include any applicable kit fees which are listed for specific classes. You will receive an email confirmation after you have signed up. If you sign up for embroidery or scanning/cutting class(es), you will receive detailed information regarding your class via snail mail.

You’ve worked hard learning long-arm computerized quilting techniques, now come and apply those techniques in a fun and easy way embellishing our favorite tote — the iconic Handi Quilter bag. We’ll be disassembling it and reinforcing it with quilting with easy reassembly on your domestic sewing machine. Make a project you’ll be proud to show your friends (and we expect to see them on all your social media sites!).

Have you ever wanted to try cutting with a Scan-n-Cut? Do you have one and you are afraid of it? Come on in and play with me! I love this machine…and I did not want to 😉 I will show you that it is not just for scrapbooking and why I have found the Scan-n-Cut to be superior to other cutters out there. You will be able to see a few of the projects that I have made with the aid of this great tool. We will also cut several different mediums and you will see how this machine can absolutely simplify some of the steps for so many projects!

* We will provide all mediums to cut (fabric, HTV, marine vinyl…).

Mini Berry Branch Art Quilt (approximate finished size 12″x12″) Machine Embroidery & Brother Scan N Cut

These little art quilts are so amazing to stitch in the hoop. The mediums used can be changed out and the look of the piece is completely altered. I love them! Join me for this Machine Embroidery/Scan-n-Cut/Applique Class. It is for all embroidery skill levels! We will cut some of our pieces on the Brother Scan-n-Cut (If you have one that will be great, but if you do not have one, this is great opportunity to try one out!) You will learn alot about Machine Embroidered Applique. We will use several different applications of applique in the hoop, with several not so common mediums for embroidery! You will also learn some tricks about rehooping for a continuous connected piece. These are skills that will help you with other future projects of your own, love those skill builders! Kit will include the following supplies: stabilizers and fabrics, 5 threads, USB Stick w/cut files and designs, complete instructions. *The supplies provided are to create the Art Quilt Top only. You will supply your own batting, backing and binding. The focus of this class is to learn how to make the top only. You will quilt and bind your finished top using your favorite method outside of class!

Have you ever wanted to try machine Embroidery? Are you not quite sure what you would/could do with it? Let me tell you a bit about the possibilities… and my passion for it, all of it! There are different so many different techniques and styles that can really enhance your projects, join me to learn how you might use it too! I will talk about many kinds of projects and we will stitch out a color block dress embroidery design (Don’t you need a new Spring dress?!) with an applique in the hoop technique. Kit will include the following supplies: Stabilizer; Background Fabric, 3 Threads, Pre-cut Applique pieces, USB Stick w/ cut files and Designs, Complete Instructions. Machine Embroidery & Brother Scan N Cut

Join me for a very fun Machine Embroidery/Scan-n-Cut Applique Class. It is for all embroidery skill levels! Using the same supplies, we will each create a pond filled with lily pads and blossoms (maybe even a few frogs!) Each will be very different and unique. I love teaching this kind of project as it allows for your own creativity. It is not your typical “Cookie Cutter Embroidery”(wink!) We will cut our pieces on the Brother Scan-n-Cut (If you have one that will be great, but if you do not have one, this is great opportunity to try one out!) Using several of my own designs, you will learn how placement, rotation and mirroring can really expand and stretch your own design library. You will learn about Machine Embroidered Applique. We will cut and then Embroider the Applique pieces on to a background.

This piece would be great finished as a child’s quilt, a wall hanging, a table piece or even as a floor mat. I love the versatility this project has! Kit will include the following supplies: Pink Perfection Tape, Stabilizer, Applistick, Background Fabric, Lily Pad Fabric, Water Lily Fabric, Frog Fabric, 5 threads, USB Stick w/ cut files and Designs, complete instructions. *The supplies provided are to create the Quilt Top only. You will supply your own batting, backing and binding. The focus of this class is to learn how to make the pond top only. You will quilt your finished top as you choose, using your favorite method!
