The Garbage Bag Quilt
Wednesday, March 25 10am – 2pm
Instructor: Gerry Graham
This is a fun quilt and perfect for beginners! You will get a lot of practice stitching a perfect 1/4″ seam. It’s kinda like a mystery quilt because you do not know what it is going to look like until you are finished! All you need is your sewing machine with 1/4″ foot and new needle installed, neutral colored thread, pins, scissors and MOST IMPORTANTLY: 75 two and a half inch strips of 100% cotton quilt fabric in any color or print. This is a great way to use up leftover yardage from other projects. Strips must be cut selvage to selvage (approximately 44″ long) and fabric must be clean and pressed (no wrinkles, pet hair or smoke please!). Color and design really does not matter as you will be sharing strips with other students. Your finished quilt top will measure 50″ X 60″. We will not be adding borders or quilting and binding the quilt – but we have other classes available to help you do this if you choose.
Please note: all strips must be cut perfectly straight and measure exactly 2.5″ wide. We are more than happy to teach you how to do this before the class – just call us at 603-373-0151 to set up an appointment. You are more than welcome to bring a lunch and/or snacks!
