Instructor: Sue Talhouk

We have about 40 fleece neck warmers and head bands cut and ready to sew! Bring your machine and some neutral color thread and help us finish the winter accessories! They, along with the hats we made in April, will be sold at the Portsmouth Elks Fair on Veterans Day with 100% of the proceeds going to the Pease Greeters. Call asap to reserve your spot. We have a limited number of machines so let us know if you need one and we will do our best to accommodate you. The neck warmers and head band skill level is suitable for anyone who is comfortable with a machine and can do a straight stitch. And a very big THANK YOU to all who participated earlier and sewed the cozy fleece hats! And a second very big THANK YOU to the folks a the Senior Center who donated their time and trims to decorate the hats over the summer. They look fabulous! To Sign Up - Call 603-373-0151

Intro to Hand Applique
Saturday, October 7, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Cost: $30.00 includes supplies
Instructor: Nancy Chandler
Join me to learn how to hand appliqué. Learn how to sew those little stitches that don't show! You will also learn how to sew curves, make sharp points (like a leaf), bias stems and reverse appliqué. You will receive a kit that has fabric, needles tread and a pattern for our project - everything you need to help you make beautiful and crisp appliqué. All you need to bring is a pencil, scissors with small sharp points, and a thimble if you use one. I use a thimble for all my hand sewing. I feel naked without one!! To Sign Up - Call 603-373-0151

Intro to Hand Quilting
Saturday, October 21, 9:00am - 12:00pm
Cost: $30.00 includes supplies
Instructor: Nancy Chandler

Want to learn to hand quilt? I have been hand quilting since 1978. It’s a skill that I love doing and love teaching. Join me for a class that teaches all the tricks that will make you a successful quilter. Learn what works to make those little even stitches. I will supply each student with a kit that includes my favorite quilting needle, batting, thread and fabrics. I will also supply templates. You need to bring a quilting hoop-12-14 inches. A quilt hoop has a rim 3/4 -1”. This helps keep your project in the hoop. I also use a thimble. It really helps moving the stiff little needle. Please bring one. I’ll have some to use (size 9). Mine are sterling silver. I love the way they feel and fit. Please also bring small thread snips or scissors, a pencil and straight edge ruler. To Sign Up - Call 603-373-0151
